Isaac Carree’s, hit single “In The Middle” still holds strong in Number One spot on Billboard Gospel Chart!


One could say that, gospel artist Isaac Carree wears many hats. He is a singer, songwriter, producer, actor, and most importantly, husband and father.

His song “In the Middle” off of his first solo album, currently holds the number one spot on the Billboard Chart for Best Gospel Song, beating out James Fortune & Fiya’s “Still Able”, and Earnest Pugh’s “I Need Your Glory”.

Also note that “In the Middle” has been sitting comfortably in that number one spot on the Billboard Gospel Song chart since the week of December 31, 2011. In the Middle has quickly grown to be a favorite among gospel music lovers.

Carree’s latest album, which is his first solo album, entitled “Uncommon Me”, released in August 2011 still places among the top ten albums on the current Billboard chart.

So who is Isaac Carree?

Well many people don’t know that Carree has actually been in the gospel music scene for quite a while. He has performed with the likes of Kirk Franklin and Michelle Williams, to name a few.

Carree grew up in North Carolina where he began singing solos in church at a young age. His mother, Pastor Nancy Wilson, currently serves as head pastor at New Beginnings Community Outreach Church in Greensboro, North Carolina.

By shining in the light of gospel music at an early age, it comes as no surprise that Carree would eventually began singing with John P.Kee’s V.I.P choir. Carree later left the V.I.P Choir to form a quartet, named Men of Standard (formed in 1996), alongside Michael Bacon, Bryan Pierce, and Lowell Pye.

During their time together as a quartet, the group produced four albums, Men of Standard (1996), Feels Like Rain (1999), Vol. III (2002) and It’s A New Day (2004). The group garnered two Stellar awards in 2000 from Feels Like Rain.

Bacon would eventually leave the group (in 2005) to pursue other goals, however, the trio continued on with the release of Surrounded in 2006, with the hit single “I Will”.

Carree currently resides in Atlanta, GA, with his wife, Dietra, of eight years. The couple has two children, a son, Isaac IV, and daughter, Alaina.

2011 was definitely a great year for Carree, and from the looks of things 2012 will be even better! We wish him the best of luck!

Earnest Pugh celebrates number one spot on Gospel Charts

Earnest Pugh debuts in the number one spot on Billboard’s Gospel Albums Chart with his new album Earnestly Yours. With his fourth album release, Pugh does not break tradition, in bringing us music that guides us through praise and worship. With the perfect mix of upbeat tempos and ballads, it is no question why Earnestly Yours was also able to secure the number one spot on iTunes Christian and Gospel digital albums.

In 2010, Pugh grabbed the #4 spot for Billboard’s gospel radio airplay artists of the year. Pugh’s latest radio single “I Need Your Glory”, written by James Fortune, is currently #10 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart.

Little Children Singing J Moss “Praise On The Inside”!!

You know I am a sucker for children singing gospel. I just had to share this with you all. This is 10 year old twins Demetrius and Darius singing one of my favorite gospel songs, “Praise On The Inside (J Moss)” with their younger 5 year old brother Jayden.

Dr. Juanita Bynum is a prophetess, author, actress, recording artist and motivational speaker. She grew up in Chicago as one of five children. After being brought to the center stage by Bishop T.D. Jakes, in the late 1990’s, she quickly gained notoriety in the gospel community. She was first married in the 1980s and then again in 2002. Both marriages ended in divorce. Her testimony is amazing. Be sure to view this live performance with the awesome Jonathan Butler!!!
