20 year old Christian singer Jamie Grace, battles Tourette’s syndrome, earns first Grammy nomination for ‘Hold Me’

Jamie Grace
Jamie Grace is a 20 year old college student who aside from her career as an actress, singer and songwriter, is also studying children’s ministry. Grace currently resides in Atlanta, GA, with her parents, both of whom are pastors at Kingdom City Center in Atlanta.

At age 11, Jamie Grace was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome. Tourette Syndrome is a disorder characterized by tics- involuntary, rapid, sudden movements and/or vocal outbursts that occur repeatedly.

Jamie was eventually homeschooled by her mother and manager, Mona Harper, as she had began to get really sick from the medication she took to help her keep the symptoms of the disorder under control.

Grace began to use music as a way to relieve her from the daily stress over her condition. She not only sings but plays the acoustic guitar, banjo, piano and ukulele.

Jamie Grace now travels the country sharing her story and faith through music and speaking. Her goal is to help families with children who are diagnosed with attention deficit hyeractivity disorder (ADHD) and Tourette’s syndrome. She already has her own non-profit mentoring program named GraceTalk.

Signed to the TobyMac-founded label, Gotee Records, early last year Grace released her hit song, “Hold Me”. A year later, the self-written hit single is nominated for best contemporary Christian music song.
